I’ve long been a fan of Alessi holsters. I think they are some of the best made leather holsters on the market. Not only that, but the company has great customer service as well.
I have been wearing the same Alessi ankle holster for the backup gun I carry at work (S&W 342) for a long time. In fact, I’ve worn it every single workday for 16 years! No other ankle holster I’ve ever used has lasted longer than a year or two.
I wear boots at work and wear the holster wrapped around my boot rather than around my leg. I find it both more comfortable and more stable that way. Most ankle holsters don’t have a strap long enough to go around both my leg and the boot. The Alessi holster utilizes an innovative solution to the problem…they have an “extender” that supplements the standard strap and adds length.
After 16 years of constant use, the holster still looks great, but the Velcro on the extender was starting to wear out. I went to the Alessi website to buy one, but I couldn’t find them for sale.
I sent the company an email inquiring about how I might go about purchasing a new one. I got a quick response asking for my address. They were going to ship me a new one free of charge.
That’s exactly what they did. I had a new ankle extender in my mailbox two days later. It’s this kind of amazing customer service that will keep me a customer for life.
Check out Alessi holsters at their website HERE. In addition to their ankle holster, I really like their “Talon” inside the waistband holster (which was once the holster issued to its undercover operatives by the CIA). I actually like it so much that I have the Talon holster for five different carry guns!
You can order holsters directly from their website, but there is a significant wait. If you have a commonly-carried gun, check out the selection at Brownells. They often have Alessi holsters in stock.
