My buddy Caleb Causey from Lone Star Medics has put together the medical education event of the year. He’s hosting a conference in Dallas where all the rockstar tactical and wilderness medicine professionals will be presenting. I’ll be attending myself to learn some new skills. See the information below and click the link to sign up. I have a feeling that this one will sell out quickly.
This two-day training conference brings together several professionals and instructors from across the US to offer attendees an opportunity to learn about specific subjects related to both field medicine and tactical medicine. The overall goal of the conference is to share the knowledge from various subject matter experts and provide attendees an opportunity to hone their skills regarding field & tactical medicine. A majority of these presentations will allow for plenty of hands-on skills practice. There will be a social mixer where you can hangout, network, and get to know the presenters in a more relaxed setting; the evening of the first training day.
Who should attend?
Anyone that wants to learn more about how to identify and treat injuries related to either a…
field environment – anywhere outside a doctor’s office or hospital; or when professional medical help is delayed or nonexistent
a tactical environment – anywhere there is a high probability of a violent attack or when a violent attack has immediately taken place and resources are limited or unavailable.
This event is for ages 12 and up. All minors under the age of 18 years of age must be registered and accompanied with an adult.
There will be courses offered at two levels; layperson (Basic) and healthcare professional (Advanced) levels. However, anyone may attend either level of class. Courses will be a first-come-first-served basis; each course will have a maximum number of students allowed. Some classes will have limited seating, like only 12, and others may have up to 50 seats available. This decision will be left up to each instructor and may change at the last minute. We are in the process of being able to offer Continued Education hours for healthcare professionals. Some of these courses may count towards TCLEOSE hours as well. We’ll post who gets how many hours as soon as we can.
Who will be presenting?
This list of professionals is made up of all sorts of professionals that have extensive backgrounds in field and/or tactical medicine. Some are EMT’s, paramedics, military medics/corpsman, nurses, dentists, veterinarians, and even doctors. Some you’ve heard of and some you may not have, yet; but they all are passionate about sharing what they know and they are definitely experts in their fields.
