Although you all might question my sanity, I’m happy to report that I just graduated from THE Ohio State University for the third time…kind of.
I got my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from OSU. When I finished my grad degree in 2003, I vowed I would never attend another university class.
I relented when I saw this post-graduate certificate in interdisciplinary psychedelic studies. After six sporadic months of online work, I earned the certificate last week.
It was a well constructed, self-paced, online program that took me a little over 20 total hours of work to complete.
I took the class for two reasons:
I have benefited from consuming psychedelic drugs (ayahuasca and mescaline) in ceremonial therapeutic settings in countries where they are legal to consume and protected under freedom of religion laws. I wanted to be able to speak more authoritatively about their psychological benefits.
In my expert witness work, almost all the folks who attack my clients are on some form of drug. This certificate might allow me to speak to some of the drug related side effects in my cases as a court-recognized expert.
If you are interested in the topic or just want a university certificate in psychedelic drugs hanging on your wall, I’d recommend this program.
