Survive a Shooting

All of my readers who are interested in active killer response tactics will love this book.

The author sent me a pre-production draft looking for feedback before publishing it.  I read the book, gave Alain a few comments, and was honored when he asked my to write a “blurb” for the front matter of his new book.  This is what I wrote:

“I have been studying the problem of active killer response for more than two decades. I’ve read every book available on the subject and have both attended and taught countless classes on the topic. Without question, Alain’s book is the absolute best reference for active killer response available on the market today. His advice is both thorough and driven by industry best practices. If you want to learn how to prevail in an active killer attack, you need this book in your library.”

Nothing has changed since I wrote that blurb months ago.  This book is still THE BEST reference guide available for surviving mass killing events.

What impressed me the most about the book is that it is so incredibly thorough.  As you can see below when you peruse the book’s table of contents, Alain has left no stone unturned while providing excellent advice about every active killer attack contingency.

Chapter 1: History of Mass Killings

Chapter 2: The Problem Defined

Chapter 3: Active Shooter Prevention

Chapter 4: Your Mind, Adrenaline, and Mindset

Chapter 5: Active Shooter Response Models

Chapter 6: Escape

Chapter 7: Deny

Chapter 8: Attack Back

Chapter 9: Stop the Bleeding

Chapter 10: When Law Enforcement Arrives

Chapter 11: Develop Your Plan Now

A Final Message

Appendix A: Business Plan Considerations

Appendix B: Lawsuits Against Organizations After Active Shooter Events

Appendix C: Training Courses

Appendix D: Suicide Bomber Threats and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)

Appendix E: Surviving Terrorist Vehicle Attacks

Appendix F: Active Shooter Lessons from The 15:17 To Paris

Lots of books give very specific advice about certain aspects of the attack cycle, but no other book is as comprehensive in scope as Survive a Shooting.   It truly covers everything you need to know in order to prevail against one of these spree killers.

I could go on for days about why Alain’s  book set a new standard of excellence for all future authors who want to cover the material, but reading that would only delay your purchase of this book for a few more minutes.  That’s cruel and unusual punishment, so I’ll spare you the trauma.  Just go out and buy this book!

Survive a Shooting is available on Alain’s website and at Amazon.com

FTC Disclosure.  The author provided me with a free electronic draft copy of the book for review.  He did so without expectations of a positive review on my site or any other location.  Mr. Burrese has not compensated me in any way (either monetarily or otherwise) for this review.  It’s a good book and I like to share good books with my readers.
