Here are a few links to articles and videos I found interesting this week. Some are intellectual. Some are informative. Some are just fun. If you have some free time, check them out this weekend.
Check out the link or the picture above to learn about the ways you can tell if someone is carrying a gun. This is the chart that William Aprill referenced in his excellent interview on the psychology of predatory criminals on Ballistic Radio.
“Leaders must set the example. Let me repeat that: LEADERS MUST SET THE EXAMPLE. One more time, for emphasis: LEADERS MUST SET THE MOTHERFUCKING EXAMPLE!!!!! If you spend your weekends in front of the computer screen, reading blogs on the internet, instead of at the range, in the gym, or hiking up a local mountainside, how can you, with any integrity, expect to guide and inspire your group members to spend their time training? If you’re whining about being too old or broken to bother with PT, then step the fuck aside and let someone with a backbone take over. If you’re bitching about the costs of ammunition, instead of dry-firing daily, how do you expect to convince your group to spend their time focused on effective firearms training, instead of making excuses? If you’re not willing to put in the effort, regardless of excuses, to meet and then exceed your standards, then go sit in the fucking corner, pout, and watch fucking Oprah, but get the hell out of the way of the guys that are doing shit!”
Good information about field sleeping options. The author’s book is a good read as well.
In the sleeping options link above, the author talks a little about using thermal tarps to block IR signatures. Here is some more information on that topic that you may find useful.
Here’s a new exercise I haven’t seen before. I’m going to add it to my workout routine. Brett’s book Strong Curves is a must read for any female looking for a great workout program or any male trainer who works with female clients.
Good information about zeroing an AR-15 rifle. Make sure you check out the chart at the end of the article.
Video demonstration of just about every possible shotgun speed loading technique.
If you have a Smith and Wesson Shield, you must inspect it to ensure that it doesn’t require repair. Some of those guns are covered by a recall just announced yesterday. Watch the video above and follow the instructions.
